Novice and experienced riders, night-owls and daylight adventurers can appreciate this guided midnight sun ATV tour departing at 9:00 pm during the weeks surrounding the Summer Solstice. The Midnight Sun illuminates forest trails and prolonged sunsets bathe the mountains in rosy alpenglow.

Details

TOUR LENGTH: Plan to be with us for 2.5 hours with 1.5 hours on the trails.
DAILY DEPARTURE: 9 pm from 6/1/25 to 8/6/25 only
TOUR LOCATION: Although we are surrounded by Denali National Park on three sides, the trails are located just outside the park.
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner to Intermediate – trails can be challenging for all skills levels depending on unit selection and previous experience.
GROUP TOUR: With this experience, you will be riding with our guides and other guests. If you prefer a private experience, we offer a private version of this tour here.
WEATHER POLCY: Midnight Sun ATV tours depart and continue in all conditions. Weather changes quickly in the Alaska Range so it’s best to be prepared for everything!
CANCELLATION POLICY: We require a 48-hour (2-day) notice for cancellations and rescheduling of tours. We will work with you to reschedule another more appropriate date. Under 48 hours, changing the reservation day or time will incur a fee, 25% of the total tour bill. If you need to cancel entirely, we will provide a full refund with a 48-hour (2-day) notice.
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Alaska State law requires all ATV drivers to be 16 years of age or older. Our policy is: Single ATV – 18 to drive, but 16 with parental permission and a valid Driver’s License. Side by Side ATV – 18 to drive with a valid Driver’s License.
COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTLE SERVICE: We offer complimentary transportation to and from most Denali area accommodations. See our SHUTTLE SCHEDULE for locations and pick-up times. Also, parking is available at our Tour Office and Tour Launch Site.
RESTROOM AVAILABILITY: There are portable toilets available at the tour launch site for you to use before and after your tour. While there are no restrooms during the tour, you can simply alert your guide and they will help you find a secluded spot in the wilderness.

							Had an absolutely incredible time with Rico & Stephen on the Midnight Sun adventure. They were so kind, so funny, so fun. We had a great time on the single and two seater ATVs as brand new riders! VERY dusty and muddy, dress appropriately! The staff at launch and transportation staff were equally amazing, and we recommend the helmet cam!

							We signed up for a private tour and ended up having the guide drive us as we were not interested in speed, mud or getting drenched. Our guide was gracious and said that she really enjoyed having a chance to just mosey around and enjoy the views. We enjoyed the ability to be close to the land and to see it up close but without the need to hike as our old joints no longer allow that. So, for those who want the typical ATV excursion, we saw lots of grins on the faces of those who did that. For us, the ATV excursion of a different type was perfect.

							This was definitely the highlight of the trip to Denali. Bob the van driver, gave an informative talk on the way to the staging area. Our guides, Wes and Jeremy were terrific!  They provided plenty of attention during the rides and gave plenty of details when we stopped to take in the sights. Thought the pace of the 2 hour ride was perfect and with some water running through Dry Creek, plenty of opportunity to get wet and muddy!

							We just tried this atv adventure today there was 9 adults we all had side by sides and the staff was very knowledgeable, helpful and fun to be with! The riding was more fun than I thought it would be! We all had a great time and we were not afraid to get dirty and keep up a quick pace which we did! The trails were fun and the views were great! 							Our time with Denali ATV Adventures was incredible! The guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced. The views were plentiful, unique and vast. And the intensity level of the activities was perfect, any healthy adult willing to get just a little dirty could have a great time on this trip (I only got a little mud on my pant legs and one of our group came away with less than dry socks). These folks DESERVE 5 stars especially our guides Tyler, Chris, and Jane. Even the bus driver, Bob, gave insightful commentary about the landscape and history of the area on the way over. I hope we all get the chance to go again someday.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is this tour only offered on certain dates?

During the peak summer season, we have the benefit of almost 24 hours of sunlight, which allows us to run this tour at a later hour. In the beginning and end of the summer season, we have less light at the end of the day which makes it harder to see out on the trails. Visting Denali in August or September after we stop the Midnight Sun Adventure? The 7 pm Denali Wilderness Adventure will offer a similar experience, as the sun is setting earlier each day.

Where does this tour go?

This tour covers the same ground as our wilderness adventure, but in a strategic stop order as to maximize our opportunities of catching the Midnight Sun!

Will it be dark?

No, it will not be dark! That’s why we get to ride at this time.

How late will I be out riding?

Your tour will return to our launch site typically around 11:10 pm, where you will take a shuttle ride back to your hotel.

I've never been on an ATV before. Will I be able to do this?

Absolutely! Our experienced guides will facilitate your experience, and there’s a short practice session before the main tour. No experience is necessary for single ATVs, and side-by-side ATVs are easy to drive, similar to a car.

What should I wear on my ATV tour?

Wear clothing appropriate for all weather and trail conditions. Layers are best in Denali, including a wind/rain layer. Choose clothing that can get dirty or wet. Closed-toe shoes are required, and sturdy sneakers or boots are recommended for the tour.

What are Denali ATV Adventures dates of operation?

Our tour office is open from 7am to 9pm during the summer season. In 2025, we will operate tours May 16 – September 13.
